The Marder III Ausf. H was the 7.5cm Pak 40 mounted on the chassis of the Pz. 38t Ausf. H, fitted with a more powerful engine than earlier 38ts.   The prototype appeared in June 1942 and 242 were built between November 1942 and April 1943.   They saw action in Russia, Tunisia and Italy with  SS and Luftwaffe units as well as the Wehrmacht.
